As I've read ( I think) all of Mary Higgins Clarke's books I do sometimes find them a little bit predictable, but they never disappoint! I think this is one of her best for a long time. It reminded me a little of the first one I read which was where are the children, in the way that several things happen all at once in the last few minutes of the book and it all comes together in a big explosion!! As I said a little predictable but enough twists and turns to keep you hooked!

Traditional Mary Higgins Clark format, which I always enjoy reading. I did not realise this copy was a 'pocket size paperback book' until it arrived, but no worries, the print was not small. It has joined the rest of my collection to be re read. As with most Mary Higgins Clark novels, the central character is a woman of strength and personality, the male characters are of lesser importance. One mystery is solved long before the end of the book, but that is not a drawback. The court timetable and scenes are interesting to read and probably well researched as they seem authentic. I enjoyed reading this book as it is true to type for MHC.

This was a good read.The story was well paced and kept me guessing through all its twists and turns. The characters were believable and I could sympathise with their thoughts and actions. Mary Higgins Clark rarely disappoints.
